Hearthside - The House That Love Built

Take a Guided Tour of Hearthside on Nov. 14

The last regularly scheduled Open House for the 2009 season will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 1-4 p.m. Visitors coming to the Open House will hear about the legendary history of Hearthside through a guided tour by docents in period costume. Tours typically take 45 minutes. Numerous antiques and vintage textiles are on exhibit.  A suggested donation of $3 per person helps support the programs and preservation work being done by the Friends of Hearthside.

During December, Hearthside will be elegantly decorated for a candlelight Christmas. A self-guided tour will be available on Sunday, December 6th, complete with live music and a visit from Santa Claus.  A special children's program, a reading of The Polar Express, will be held on Sunday, December 13th, including singing of Christmas songs and hot chocolate and cookies.  And there will be one additional opportunity to see the festive decorations which will be after the Christmas rush.  On Tuesday evening, December 29th, a guided Candlelight Tour will finish off Hearthside's 2009 season.  More details on each of the Christmas events will be posted on the website.
