Hearthside - The House That Love Built

Celebrate the Holidays with a Visit to Hearthside
Dec. 6, Dec. 13, and Dec. 29

There's no place like Hearthside to enjoy the spirit and warmth of an old-fashioned Christmas!  So plan now to bring your family and friends to journey into the past and be dazzled by Hearthside's lavishly decorated rooms. Make a visit to Hearthside part of your holiday tradition!

  • Holiday Open House, Sunday, Dec. 6th   2:00-7:00 p.m.

Our volunteers in Victorian finery will invite you to stroll through each room and enjoy the warm beauty of the home. Sounds of traditional holiday music performed on a harp and piano will welcome you.  And Old Saint Nick himself will be making an appearance at 4:30.  He's the real guy....Santa Claus (he legally changed his name to Santa Claus!).  Admission is $4/adult; 16 and under free.

  •  The Polar Express, Sunday, Dec. 13th  1:00-2:30 p.m. or 3:00-4:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand is this children's program featuring the popular Christmas story, The Polar ExpressSpecial family memories are made with this favorite children's story experienced in the ambience of this magical Christmas setting. Limited tickets are available for either a 1:00 or a 3:00 seating. Our special guest "conductor" who will read the story this year is Lincoln's most eloquent Charles Cox!    Festivities include the reading of the story, Christmas sing-along, visit from Santa, hot chocolate and cookies and a special favor for each child.  Of course, a trip through the house to see all the decorations is also part of the event along with shopping in the Hearthside Gift Shop for a special gift!   Tickets are $10/person and are available starting on Nov. 21st by calling Hearthside at 401-726-0597.

  •  Home for the Holidays Candlelight Tour, Tuesday, Dec. 29  6:00-8:00 p.m.

New to this year's schedule is the addition of a Candlelight Tour of Hearthside AFTER the Christmas rush is over.  Visitors are invited to view Hearthside's decorations one more time before the season is over.  This will be the only time during the holiday season that a guided tour will be given...and of course, by the soft glow of candelight!  Here's a chance to stop by if you missed the earlier opening in December, or if you have out of town guests in for the holidays and are looking for an evening activity to do that is close to home. Admission is $4/adult; 16 and under free.
