STATEWIDE OPEN HOUSES OF HISTORIC SITES ON OCTOBER 24THHearthside will be among 100 museums, cultural art centers, and historic sites throughout 24 towns in Rhode Island to open their doors to the public FREE OF CHARGE on Sunday afternoon, October 24 th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The purpose of the “Save Our Heritage” Statewide Open House is to not only showcase Rhode Island’s remarkable museums, historic sites, and cultural arts centers, but to demonstrate the impact of State Preservation Grants and promote passage of the Historic Preservation and Heritage Bond Issue (Question #11) on November 2. As a recipient of a major grant from the Historic Preservation and Heritage Bond Issue that was passed during the last election, Friends of Hearthside enthusiastically urges voters to VOTE YES in order to make more funding available to preserve our historic landmarks. Other Lincoln sites participating include: Valentine Whitman House, Hannaway Blacksmith Shop, Eleazer Arnold House, Wilbur Kelly House and the Saylesville Quaker Meeting House.
