HEARTHSIDE’S WISH LIST
Friends of Hearthside welcomes both donated and loaned items, providing there is room for them and they fit with the other furnishings in the house. All items must be in good condition. Donated items are eligible for tax deductions as allowed under IRS rules.
Period Furnishings (19th century)
- Large antique (Oriental) rugs , approximately 12’x12’ for
the dining room and formal parlor in good condition
- Dining Room Table & chairs
- Floor Lamps and Table Lamps
- Wall Sconces
- Fancy serving dishes, teacups, plates, spoons
- Props to accessorize rooms (bureau items, vases, oil lamps, candlestick
holders, old photographs, jewelry, or other antique items.)
For Events
- Tables- Card Tables/Small Accent Tables/Banquet
- Crafters to produce items for the Gift Shop
- Volunteers
to help with events—planning and preparation, staffing
- Printing services—produce flyers, programs
- Photographer
For Organization
- Volunteers
to be trained as guides and/or wear costumes
- Writers for articles, grants, brochures
- Volunteers (lots
of them!) - event planners, fund raisers, bakers, crafters, extra helping
hands always needed.
- Craftspeople to demonstrate heritage crafts---weavers, spinners, blacksmiths,
silversmiths, basket weaving, woodworkers, soap makers, and other artisans
For Outdoors
- Flagpole (scaled to house size)
- Outdoor Lighting
- Yard Work and Gardening
- Perennial flowers for heritage garden
- Sign boards to create changing messages---events, directions
For Indoors
- Mannequins/dress forms for displaying vintage clothing
- Housekeeping/storage organizing
