Friends of Hearthside Honored with Public Service Award
The Friends of Hearthside was one of five recipients honored
by Lincoln’s Republican Town Committee on Sunday evening,
September 13, 2009 at a dinner at the Lincoln Country Club. In
presenting the award, Charles Cox noted, “Kathy Hartley
and her ‘Friends of Hearthside’ have worked
tirelessly to open this great house to our community…the
reenactments, the afternoon teas, the Antiques’ Fair,
and so many other functions at the mansion remind all of
us that Hearthside is central in our community’s history. Much
of the credit for that belongs to a small group of individuals
and their champion.”
The award, a beautiful wooden table clock with an inscribed
gold plaque, is on display at Hearthside.
