Hearthside - The House That Love Built

1772 FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT FOR ROOF REPAIRS

Friends of Hearthside has been awarded a $12,000 grant from the 1772 Foundation. The purpose of the grant is for roof repairs. Despite the number of repairs done on the roof over the year, Hearthside has had damage over the past two winters with leaks and resulting damage has occurred both inside and outside the house.

In May, the Town of Lincoln approved a $25,000 expenditure for the roof repair project. Combined with this new grant, adequate funds are now available to complete the full restoration of the roof and the additional repairs necessary due to the water damage.

Work is expected to get underway in September/October following the bid process and selection of the contractor by the Town of Lincoln.

The 1772 Foundation, based in Connecticut, provides financial support for targeted restoration and agricultural projects throughout the United States.
