Hearthside - The House That Love Built

LINCOLN RESIDENTS VOTE A NEW ROOF FOR HEARTHSIDE

The severe winter of 2010-11 took its toll on the roof at Hearthside.  No longer can the previous repairs that were patched here and there hold up against the snow, ice and rain.  After undergoing major roof repairs and room renovations from the water damage last year, we were once again faced with water leaks and ruined walls at the conclusion of the winter.

Upon hearing our plight at the Annual Meeting and the need to deplete our newly-created Capital Improvement Fund in order to put a new roof on, Town Administrator Joe Almond submitted an appropriation of $25,000 as part of the 2011 Budget to cover the cost.  On May 9th, at the Annual Financial Town Meeting, residents voted unanimously for approval on the expenditure.  It is important to note that the funds are being appropriated from the Town's surplus funds which are set aside for capital projects such as this and will not affect the taxpayers.

We are extremely grateful that the Town administration and residents recognize the importance of this critical repair!  Once a contractor has been hired, work should be underway and completed before the bad weather sets in again.
