A Dickens Christmas and Candlelight Tour December 12th

On Sunday, December 12 th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friends of Hearthside will feature “A Christmas Carol” Celebration. Guests will enjoy an especially beautiful candlelight tour by costumed guides of the dressed up mansion and experience the tradition of Christmas caroling and wassailing. Victorian carolers, accompanied by local violinist, Paul Pelletier, will be on hand to sing Christmas carols while guests enjoy hot hors d’oeuvres and a traditional Wassail bowl. The Gift Shop will be open and will feature homemade breads and sweets. Guests can then proceed to the festivities at the Fezziwig Party, running from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Blackstone River Theatre in Cumberland where they can enjoy traditional dancing and music of the Dickens era. Advance tickets are $10.00 for the Hearthside event and may be purchased by calling 726-0597. Tickets for the Blackstone River Theatre may be purchased by contacting the Theatre. Combined tickets to both events are available at $25 through the Theatre.
