
“The Polar Express” comes to Hearthside December 19thOn Sunday, December 19th, young and old will enjoy the magic of Christmas, as told through the popular children’s storybook, “The Polar Express”, written by Chris Van Allsburg. Readings of the book by theatre instructor, Richard Blue, will be held at 2:00 p.m. and again at 4:00 p.m., followed by guided tours of the beautifully decorated home. Also on tap are a Christmas sing-along, and a visit with Santa. Holiday cookies and hot chocolate will be served and children will receive a special memento of their time at Hearthside. The gift shop will be open and volunteers will be on hand to help children select holiday gifts for their family and friends, along with a chance to purchase a ticket for a “Polar Express” raffle basket, complete with an autographed copy of the award-winning book. Local author Natalya Goncharova and her son Kirill, will be available to sign copies of their book, “Musictionary,” a music dictionary designed to stimulate the creativity of young children and inspire them to learn about music. Advance tickets to the event are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Call 726-0597 to purchase tickets. At the conclusion of the event, the drawing for the Hearthside Raffle will take place. Prizes going to the lucky winners include a private party at Hearthside, a weekend trip to a condo in the mountains of New Hampshire, or a beautifully handmade friendship star quilt, featuring an embroidered block of Hearthside. |
