HEARTHSIDE VOLUNTEER FORM

Friends of Hearthside welcomes those who want to help us meet our mission. There are many volunteer opportunities available, and we want to insure that the experience is a mutually beneficial one to both Hearthside and the volunteer. Commitments may be flexible to suit the volunteer's availability. If you are interested in volunteering, please print off a copy of this form and mail, email, or phone the contact information below.

Gift Shop- Cashier, organize displays and merchandise, provide craft items or consignments.

Tour Guide - Volunteer to greet and provide information about the history of Hearthside. Host a room or be a guide for the entire house. Or join our new group of tour guides for the Great Road Historic District.

Special Events - Help in the planning of specially-themed events (such as the Traditional Tea, Fall Festival of Crafts, Victorian Christmas), locating speakers/demonstrators, decorating the house, promoting the event, and lending a hand during the event.

Grounds-Yard clean-up, planting and watering flowers, trimming greens.

Maintenance-Assist with general maintenance of the house such as general housework. Also special projects such as furniture restoration and repair, minor house repairs, painting, etc.

Education & Historical Research-Opportunity to help learn more about the history of Hearthside and the families who lived there, and what life was like in the 19th century through volunteer research projects. Also, assisting with the display of the Hearthside artifacts and collected materials and the interpretation of these to enhance the visitor's experience.

Fundraising-Help in identifying sources of support such as sponsorships and grants or securing gift items as raffle prizes and selling tickets.

Photography-Opportunity for those talented in photography to capture the beauty of Hearthside in all seasons and during events in order to use to promote Hearthside in publications, our website, and for our scrapbook
